Board Meeting Notice & Highlights

Board meetings are (usually) held at Newport Covenant Church, Bellevue , 9:00 a.m. The next meeting will be May 17, 2008, but this one will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, Shoreline.

HIGHLIGHTS OF JANUARY 2008 BOARD MEETING:

  • It was decided that the board will be committed to holding the rest of the walks in the 2008 year (includes winter 2008-winter 2009) trusting that God will provide the appropriate number of pilgrims for these walks.
  • Open board positions that have been filled are: Marilynn Chintella, President Elect; Bill Gywn, Men's Walk Coordinator; Nina Buma, Secretary; Spiritual Advisor positions are still open.
  • There are about 4900 names in the WTE database but only 620 receiving the Gazette via email and 280 getting the paper copy. If you are getting neither, make sure you contact Cheryl Goodwin (206-546-8182), or Gary Buma stating which way you would like to receive it.
  • When you sign the Statement of Leadership Commitment for each walk you serve, you are agreeing to put aside your own personal beliefs and agendas in order to serve Jesus Christ in the capacity He has called you for that walk and to keep the focus of the weekend on Him and in service to the pilgrims.

Board Officer Nominations

Use either of these forms to nominate Board Members:      (PDF Version to print/save/email)      (Word Version to save/email)

All individuals elected to leadership positions on the Walk to Emmaus Board are first nominated by a community member or the Nominations Committee of the Board. The Nominations Committee is committed to using nominations, that meet required criteria, from the community first and will supplement, as needed, nominations from the Committee.

If you have any questions regarding the nomination process, feel free to ask any Board member.
